I'm a teacher/principal and I am interested. How do I find out more?

The research team is happy to meet with you in person to discuss any concerns or queries you may have. The meeting holds no obligation for subsequent participation.

The time needed for child assessment is too long.

The child assessment will be conducted by trained researchers who will be sensitive to your child's temperament, motivation and attention levels. The assessment is framed as a series of fun activities for the children, with tokens and stickers to reward their efforts. In our experience, many children find the session enjoyable. If your child is unable to complete testing in 1 session, we can end earlier and arrange to come back another day to finish things up.

Can you do testing at my home?

Yes! We assess at homes and also on weekends, subject to assessors' availability.

Can I withdraw participation after signing up?

Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without prejudice.

Is there a cash reward?

No, depending on your level of participation, participants may choose to obtain a summary report of their child's performance in assessment, or enter our lucky draw for shopping vouchers. Children who go through the assessment will be given a small token of appreciation for their time.

Will my personal information be kept confidential ?

Your personal information will be kept confidential. Prior to commencing the study, we have gotten approval from the NTU Ethics Committee for our data confidentiality protocol. If you wish to talk to an independent person about your concerns, questions can also be directed to NTU Institutional Review Board (IRB) / Ethics Committee at 6592 2495 or email irb@ntu.edu.sg.
